Fiberglass filtration materials are made by fast pulling from the melted glass liquid. It is a kind of inorganic non-woven filtration material fiberglass is usually divided into two types: 1, aluminum boron silicate glass fiber, called non-alkali fiberglass(R2O-alkali metal oxide content in less than 0.5%). 2, sodium-calcium silicate fiber called middle-alkali fiberglass(content of R2O-alkali metal oxide between 0.5%~1.2%). Compared with organic synthetic fibers, it has high tensile strength, and the elongation is relatively small. Fiberglass has very good temperature resistance. Its shrinkage at 280℃ is zero. Glass fiber can resist most of the chemicals except hydrofluoric acid, strong acid, and strong alkali at room temperature and the alkali at high temperature. But its resistance capability of hydrolysis is relative bad. Storing in the condition of 100% relative humidity for 128 days, the strength will reduce 16% and 21% for non-alkali and middle-alkali fiberglass.
Due to the special component of fiberglass, it does not have very good water and corrosion resistance. Its resistance to curving is also not good. Therefore the filtration materials contains fiberglass must apply the post-processing. That is to improve the combination between the felt layer and the fabric layer, protect the felt and fabric from corrosion. It will also improve the ability of dust stripping from the felt.
Based on different industry conditions, we can produce the filtration felt using fiberglass as fabric and combine different high-temperature fiber with fiberglass in certain proportion as the felt layer. The products are applied in blast furnace gas, calcium carbide, out let of cement kiln, cement grinding machine, preheated dryer and carbon filtration. We can provide product made by different formulation based on request of customers’ industry condition.
Waterproof and oil-proof function of the non-woven needled felt product
In some of the working conditions, the water contains of the flue gas is high and the temperature of it is relative low. The humidity in the gas then turns to dew on the surface of the filtration bag. That often leads to the dust sticking on the surface of the bag and reduction of the filtration function. The waterproof and oil-proof function for the common needled felt material/bag are all not good. In order to prevent the above mentioned problem. We should apply the pos-treatment of dipping or surface coating of water-proof materials for the filtration material. The materials will have the function of waterproof and oil-proof function after the treatment and the size-fixing process under high temperature. The technology makes the filtration on bags having the same ideal performance even in the high humidity conditions.
Anyhow, the high humidity gas, especially the gas that contains water-absorbable dust, is easy to lead the dust sticking on the filtration bag. We recommend that the customers should choose the regular and simple round bag but not the flat bag with complex sharp and design. The working temperature of the dust catcher should be controlled to 10℃-20℃ higher that the dew point.
